Longleng DPDB recommend agendas for govt approval

Longleng, July 6 (MExN): The Monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Longleng was held on July 6 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam at DC’s conference hall.   DPRO Longleng in a report stated that the chairman informed the members about the field study visit of 16 Secretariat Assistant team to the district and urged the HODs to extend their full co-operation and support to the team while disseminating their departmental activities.  

The board after lengthy deliberations recommended the following agendas for approval by the government: creation of urban primary health centre at Longleng HQ, establishment of Ayush hospital at District Hospital Longleng; upgradation of Pongo, and Tamlu PHC to CHC; upgradation of Tangha and Namching sub-centers to PHC; taking over of Yaongyimchen community health centre by the Government and creation of new sub-center at Yonglok, Alayong, Orangkong and Tamlu village; renaming the grant in aid to Christ King School and Registration of new Society as “May I Help You”.  

While proposing for upgradation of various medical centers in the district, Dr. Meren DPO (RCH & UIP) invited the members to attend the World Population Day to be observed on July 11 in Longleng Headquarter to disseminate its importance to the mass by the officers.  

The board approved the proposal submitted by the DC for organizing Officers’ Club of Longleng and constituted 8 members committee headed by Temsuwati ADC Longleng as the chairman and Vitoka EAC Longleng as member secretary. The board entrusted the committee to make necessary arrangement and feasibility of the Officers’ Club. While proposing for Officers’ Club the DC exhorted the members to come forward with an enthusiasm mind to work out the feasibility of the club as center point of discussion, coordination for the officers in developmental activities besides other activities and curriculum.  

The board also recommended the proposal submitted by the Station Superintendent of NST Longleng for daily NST bus service from Longleng to Kohima and the proposal of DEO (Evaluation) to carry out study on implementation of Mid Day Meal Scheme in the district.  

The ADC Tamlu Chingak Konyak also informed the members regarding fixing of rates to compensate the landowners for damaged of land and properties for construction of two lane road from Merangkong via Tamlu to Mon district. He urged upon 8 departments to hold back after the DPDB meeting for fixing of rate to be submitted to Guwahati urgently for immediate progress of work by the contractor.  

The DAO (Agri) presented the activities taken up by the Agriculture department in the district and MS District Hospital Longleng gave a power point presentation on use of tobacco and health. The chairman directed the Supply and the Soil department to present their activities in the next DPDB meeting.
