Longleng, July 11 (MExN): The ADC & Administrator, Longleng Town Council, D Robin has informed that in view of the on-going lockdown and the resultant issues related to price of meat items and other essential commodities, a coordination meeting was held on July 10 at the Office of the ADC & Administrator Longleng Town Council with representatives from DDs, Chamber of Commerce & Industries and NGOs.
The house issued the following regulations to be followed:
• The whole sale of live meat products/items to private individuals is strictly prohibited for LTC registered butcher. However it may be considered/exempted for certain condition on emergency grounds.
• The above revised rate is temporary and shall be rolled back to previous existing rates as and when the current situation due to Covid-19 normalized.
• The Chamber of Commerce & Industries Longleng is entrusted for temporary fixation of reasonable rate for chilies, tomato and other vegetable items.
• The above prescribed rate is the maximum which has to be followed by all concern.
• Proper maintenance of standard weighing machine should be ensured. It is recommended to use electronic weighing machines by all concerned.
• Unauthorized sale of meat portion without standard weighing is hereby banned with immediate effect.
• Dobashis (DBs) are henceforth empowered to conduct surprise checking to curb malpractice and for ensuring cleanliness in the market from time to time.
• Strict/stringent action shall be initiated against defaulters which may even include the cancellation of trade permit/license.
• This order will come into force with effect from July 13.
