Longleng Town Council ensures safety of sanitation workers

Longleng, October 18 (MExN): To promote clean and hygienic environment, Longleng Town Council launched its second phase of cleanliness and hygiene campaign by distributing waste collection kits to its sanitary workers who have been actively involved in the upkeep of solid waste collection through house to house collection. 

A DIPR report stated that citing the performance of Longleng Town Council (LTC) in the recent Swachh Survekshan 2022, Trongdiba Tongpi Sangtam, Administrator, Longleng Town Council stressed on the significance of keeping a clean and wholesome environment whether in home, offices, and public areas. 

He pointed out that the LTC will continue its effort by focusing on large scale public participation by sanitising the society about the importance of community participation and working together towards making the town a better place to reside in. 

Compulsory registration and vaccination of dogs 
Further, in order to control and regulate straying of dogs, the LTC and Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Longleng in collaboration with the ward authorities started compulsory registration and vaccination of dogs on October 18. 

All dog owners within Longleng town are required to mandatorily register their dogs and ensure their custody within the premises of their respective residence and wards, the report stated. Dog welfare & monitoring Committee has been set up by all the respective wards to monitor and ensure the welfare of dogs within their respective jurisdiction.
