Longmatra, November 18 (MExN): During an official tour to 59 A/C Seyochung Sitimi, the Minister for Soil and Water Conservation, Geology & Mining and NSMDC, V Kashiho Sangtam inaugurated rostrum at Longmatra Hq on November 17. The rostrum was constructed from LADP under ICONIC project, stated a press note received here.
During the meeting, Kashiho stress on importance of good roads in the state and informed that the Government has approved two-lane connection from Akhewgo to Kiphire. He appealed the people of Longmatra area, which is crossing the two-lane “not to obstruct or give hindrance when the government is taking up any development activities.” He discouraged the landowners from illegal construction along the stretch as it will hamper the development activities. “Without good road there will be no development.” He reiterated.
Meanwhile, he said that Government has taken up Look East Policy, and for this inland waterways will be taken up very soon. However, due to some minor land issues, things has been not yet materialized, he lamented and urged Longmatra area people to “support and cooperate with the Government as and when the things materialized as inland waterways will be connecting through Longmatra.”
Kashiho also expressed disappointment to see that Kiphire is been shown at the least percentage on Covid vaccination in the Country. While urging to avail Covid vaccine he added, “stop believing rumors and take the jab for the safety of oneself, family and society.”
Throngathe, General Secretary Longmatra Area GBs Association, Subenthung Kithan BJP State Vice President, R Joshua Sangtam Advisor USLP and Former Chairman KTC and Ane Khieya, EAC Longmatra Incharge also spoke in the programme. Akheta Sangtamlarü Thsimüjang presented cultural item. Tethsolen, General Secretary 59th Mandal gave a development report under Longmatra Area. Y Thsarise Pastor Longmatra Town Baptist Lithro said the invocation and Rhangtsothe, President BLP Longmatra Area Unit chaired the programme.
