Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along arriving at the Longpayimsen Students’ Union golden jubilee celebration held on December 28.
Mokokchung, December 29 (MExN): The Longpayimsen Students’ Union (LSU) celebrated its golden jubilee on December 28, with Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher & Technical Education, as special guest.
It was stated in a press release received here that in his speech, the Minister lauded the pioneers of the Longpayimsen Students' Union for bearing the torch through the formative years of its existence in the year 1968.
While exhorting the student leaders, Along said, “A time has come for this present generation to become a generation of trendsetters,” Stating that we are living in a community having enough educated unemployed youth we should make good use of our education, while focusing more on self employment and self sustenance, instead of remaining idle and seeking backdoor appointments or relying upon lucrative Government jobs.
The Minister further encouraged the students stating, “It is very important to maintain consistency in our pursuance for excellence and keeping focus on the set target and the goals in our lives.”
Earlier, the Minister unveiled the jubilee stone, while a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor, Longpayimsen Baptist Church.
