Losatephe | April 24
Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) K.G. Kenye today graced the inauguration day of Losatephe village under Phek district.
This village, recognized by state government in 2017, is situated on the south flank- Nagaland- Manipur border at NH 29 road under Phek district. It has a population of 332 with 84 families. The state government accorded the recognition of Losatephe village on 12th October 2017 with Phek Sadar as an administrative circle.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenye lauded the locals for their veritable honesty in business activity along National Highway 29 which has ensured good reputation of Losatephe. He called upon the villages to come forward and strengthen rural economy. He expressed his concern that today Nagas are afflicted by the infection of dishonesty and even irresponsibility. Regretting that Nagas in general have lost a good deal of good character, he stressed on the need to stand for the good traditional practices. He also stressed on the need to maintain peace for all round development of the village.
MLA Yitachu from 20 Meluri Assembly Constituency in his speech said that as long as the policy of suppression and oppression exist the end result would be always bad and disturb the normal human activities. In this, he said a sense of justice, equality and opportunity for all should be the prime focus so that the village would prosper in all fronts. He said a sense of justice in whatever forums is a must at all levels. He said the activity in business is highly dependent on goodwill, hospitability and friendliness with the customers. Truthfulness, honesty and sincerity must be practiced in everyday life, he said.
MLA Kezhienyi Khalo from 17th Chizami A/C, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Kekhwengulo Lea, Phek ADC K. Mhathang Tsanglao also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Losatephe village council chairman Khrowete Lasuh briefed the history of the village while Keziiwelo Akami, chairman Losami village council delivered welcome address. The programme also witnessed words of blessing from Losami village head GB Rekhwetso Swuro. The function was chaired by Wepe Mekrisuh.
