Lotha CSOs serve five-day ultimatum to commence NH-2 construction work

WOKHA, FEBRUARY 1 (MExN): Lotha civil society organizations on Thursday issued an ultimatum to begin work at the ongoing two-lane construction of NH-2 (Old NH-61) from KM 72.40 to KM 83.00 in Wokha district within five  days. 

The joint ultimatum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha from Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, Loths Students’ Union, Wokha District Village Chairmen Association, Wokha Town Colonies’ Chairmen Union and Joint Action Committee, said several discussions and negotiations on the issue pursued by the various apex CSOs and JAC have all coming to nothing. Therefore, no further negotiation(s) or deliberation(s) would be entertained, it added.

It also cautioned that the CSOs would be compelled to announce indefinite bandh of the National Highway passing through Wokha district if the construction work does not begin within 5 days from the date of publication of the ultimatum letter.
