Lotha Eloe Ekhung Seithikebasa celebrates women’s day

Chümoukedima, March 9 (MExN): Lotha Eloe Ekhung Seithikebasa Chümoukedima celebrated women’s day on March 8, stated a DIPR report.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Accelerate Action (Foster Empowerment)’, Lolano Patton, DPRO Wokha highlighted women centric schemes including Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Palna National Creche and Shaki Niwas (working women hostel). She encouraged the eligible women to avail the opportunities provided by the Government through Social Welfare Department. “Know what is due to you and empower yourself by availing it and share the information to others too,” she advised.

On the occasion, Patton also read out the message of Chief Secretary Nagaland, Dr J Alam, IAS, to the Lotha womenfolk of Seithikebasa. In his message, Alam noted gender equality as a priority for the Government. “When we invest in and empower women, we empower humanity. Achieving gender equality is a shared mission, not just a woman's responsibility. Let us stand together in solidarity, celebrate women's achievements, and work towards a world where every woman is empowered, respected and valued,” the message read.

Dr Zubenthung L Kithan spoke on, “Role of Immunization in promoting Women's Health and Dr Benchilo Odyuo spoke on, “Accelerate Action (Advance women's and girl’s rights)”

Retired Jt Director Agriculture, also Chairman of Lotha Ekhung Seithikebasa, Santsu Kithan exhorted the women gathering. 

On the occasion, Lotha Eloe Ekhung Seithikebasa acknowledged the oldest Lotha woman of Seithikebasa and all its past office bearers.
