Wokha, February 7 (MExN): Under the aegis of Lotha Eloe Hoho (Apex body of Lotha Women) an awareness campaign covering varied issues related to womenfolk was undertaken by Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) covering Sanis, Bhandari and Ralan villages under Wokha district from February 3 to 4.

LEH President, Thungbeni Ngullie in her introductory remark said that the main purpose of the campaign was to empower the womenfolk by educating them, thereby making them aware about their rights and privileges. Ngullie urged the women gathering to march in unity with one voice and spirit, for progress and upliftment of the women community, stated a DIPR report. 

LEH Cultural Committee, Convenor Mhalo TM Lotha enlightened the gathering on the proper usage of traditional attires recognised by LEH, during different occasions.

Observing that the aged old traditional designs, motifs and patterns are being replaced by modern designs, Mhalo encouraged the Lotha womenfolk for preserving and protecting the original traditional attires. She also read out the Resolutions adopted on the usage of Lotha Women traditional attires.

Chairperson, CWC, Wokha and Advisor LEH, Mhonchumi Humtsoe spoke on issues pertaining to Child Rights Protection. For seeking help and assistance, she informed them for availing the child help line toll free number 1089 which is available 24x 7.
