Wokha, February 5 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho and Lotha frontal organisations in Wokha have urged the law enforcing agencies to take immediate action against the accused of January 18 incident in Wokha, where one person was shot at in GA colony.
A statement from Lotha Hoho chairman, Mhao Humtsoe and general secretary, Er. Mhondamo Ovung while condemning the incident recalled that on the night of January 18, the accused Tumchobemo Kikon “attempted to shoot Etssorhomo Yanthan, and thereby shot his son Renbithung Yanthan twice on the head.”
It pointed out that the accused is still at large and yet to be arrested.
“The Lotha community through the Lotha organisations view the matter very seriously and urge those whoever may be giving shelter to the culprit to immediately hand over the said Tumchobemo Kikon to the law enforcing agencies,” the statement added.
“Any such act of sheltering a criminal is a sin/crime against the Lotha people and humanity as the culprit does not deserve any shelter or protection,” it further asserted.
The organisations therefore urged to hand over the accused immediately to the police, “failing which the act of protecting a criminal will be viewed as anti Lotha and anti humanity.”
With regard to the explosion which occurred on February 24, 2015 at Tsumang colony in the heart of Wokha Town, the Lotha Hoho lamented that those responsible have not been arrested so far.
“After three full years, the report of the Inquiry (SIT) is not to be heard of yet and the where about of those responsible is not known, which is an indication that the law enforcing agencies are not sincere or committed,” the Lotha Hoho statement read.
“Let not such a laxity, on the part of the Law Enforcing Agencies, be exhibited again,” it added.
