
Three independent candidates sign ‘withdrawal bond’
Wokha, January 14 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho has offered intending candidates the ‘option’ to “withdraw nomination” through the Lotha Hoho till 12:00 am of January 16. However, any candidate failing to withdraw their nomination papers will be subject to “non cooperation, social exclusion, barring from leadership, responsibility for any eventuality relating to ULB elections 2017,” stated the Lotha Hoho today.
A press statement from Lotha Hoho Chairman Mhao Humtsoe and General Secretary Mhondamo Ovung informed that in compliance of the Lotha Public Resolution of January 8, affirmed on January 12 and reaffirmed on January 14, for withdrawal of nomination papers to ULB (Wokha and Bhandari Town Councils) elections 2017, a meeting of general public of Wokha town, surrounding villages, all Lotha frontal organisations, was held at Town Hall, Wokha, today in order to “to enforce the process of withdrawal of nomination.”
“Many intending candidates expressed willingness to withdraw their nomination,” claimed the press statement, however noting that January 14 being a non working day (second Saturday), the office of the Returning Officer was closed; but in the meeting hall, “three Independent candidates, namely Zaremo Murry, Janponthung Ngullie and Abel Ennio, signed their Withdrawal Bond.”
“Other candidates have also assured that they will withdraw with the NPF Party candidates assuring the house, through N. Mhabemo Ezung (candidate for ward No. 11), that they would withdraw collectively,” the Lotha Hoho stated. The Hoho, “along with the Lotha public,” expressed “deep appreciation” to the candidates who have withdrawn their nomination, and urged all candidates to withdraw early.
