The Medan Peyu Lotha Regional Council (NNC) clarified that according to the press release issued by Ex President Rapenthung Patton on 30/1/2014 regarding the election of President of Lotha Regional Council. He said that Rapenthung Patton’s term of presidentship ended on 15th May 2013 and submitted his resignation letter to Vice President of Lotha Regional Council (NNC) on 21 June 2013 and on 31st October 2013 information was issued for the election of new president for LRC (NNC) but as request made by Rapenthung Patton to let him continued upto December 2013, his request was granted upto December 2013.And on 11th January 2014, Lotha Region NNC authority held a meeting to conduct the President Election and during the meeting the members said that as the former president has tendered his resignation, the presidentship has to be conducted on 21st January 2014.
As the members have fixed the date of the President’s election, the election was conducted on 21st January 2014 at LTC Hall Wokha and elected Yilow Humtsoe as the new President for the Lotha Regional Council (NNC) for a term of 5 years. And recognized Yilow Humtsoe as the new president by the authority of LRC (NNC), meanwhile the acting President and General secretary NNC Nagaland also congratulate him and done all the formalities for recognizing him as the new president for LRC (NNC) and in this regard press release issued by Rapenthung Patton for conducting of new president election on 31st January 2014 at Town Hall 9.00 AM is strongly oppose by the LRC (NNC) Medan Peyu and informed all the members not to attain/participate in that function because he doing illegal and is politically wrong for he is doing in the interest of one individual.
