KOHIMA (MExN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) today issued a two day deadline for the government to immediately terminate the services of S.K Paul, Maths teacher, Government Higher Secondary School, Purana Bazar, Dimapur who was cross transferred to Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha but had failed to comply with the government order.

At a press conference held today at the NSF Conference Hall, LSU functionaries informed that the government’s order was dated March 4, 2005.

The LSU expressed displeasure that the teacher S.K Paul, had yet to comply with the government order.

The union informed that in spite of the fact that Loyibeni was immediately released from the Institution as demanded by the Government order, S.K Paul did not join the institution.

Further, the Government had issued another order on October 20, 2005, superseding all the other order directing SK Paul to immediately join GHSS, Wokha within 7 days, for which he had been released from GHS Purana Bazar by the Head Mistress, vide order No. GHS/PB/ACT-10/05/280 dated October 24, 2005. “However, he failed to join the institution which was self explanatory”, the LSU functionaries stated.

The LSU pointed out that several meetings were held where it was resolved that SK Paul would be told to report to the school within seven days with effect from November 9. The teacher however failed to comply again, the students alleged.

The LSU also informed that they had met the Director of School Education today where they had called for the immediate termination failing which the union would take action including closing down the particular institution.

The LSU further said that this was in the larger interest of the people’s demand that SK Paul be terminated and to instead reinstate a competent teacher with immediate effect failing which the concerned department would be held responsible.

The NSF has also expressed full solidarity and support to the LSU.
