Lower Chandmari Panchayat office inaugurated

Kohima, May 16 (MExN): Kohima Deputy Commissioner R. Ramakrishnan, IAS today inaugurated the Panchayat office of Lower Chandmari Colony, Kohima at a function held here.

Inaugurating the office, Kohima DC urged upon the residents of the colony to maintain peace and unity and work together for the welfare and development of the colony.

He also gave positive response to the representation submitted by Panchayat Lower Chandmari, colony. 

Further, Ramakrishnan donated Rs. 25,000 towards maintenance of the office.

Earlier, in a memorandum, the Panchayat requested the Kohima DC to look into the matter for allotment of one ‘condemned quarter’ for Panchayat Hall, creation of Government LP School and medical sub-centre in the colony, enhancement of K Oil and food grain under FPS/BPL/AAY and appointment of 2 more GBs.

Chairing the function, the Panchayat chairman Thungbemo Mozhui informed that the first priority of the Panchayat is to keep the colony clean, adding that cleanliness has been placed as the nmber one agenda.

He also stressed on the need to create a good atmosphere within the colony and sought cooperation from each and every individual towards the progress of the area.

A brief report of  the Panchayat was read out by Panchayat  secretary John Kath while Neise, Pastor of  Immanuel Baptist Church said the innovation.

The function concluded with a vote of thanks offered by Lemjan, secretary of  Women Welfare Organization, Lower Chandmari.
