Kohima, June 18: The newly constructed panchayat hall of Lower Jail Colony (LJC), Kohima was inaugurated by Additional Director of Treasuries & Accounts, Nagaland and also the Chairman of the colony, Chayazo Kehie today.
Kehie informed that it is the first colony panchayat hall which has been constructed through the contributions made by the colony residents. The building will be used for the welfare of the colony and public services, he said.
On the proposed Kohima Smart City, he urged the colony people and general public to work harder and go extra mile to achieve the project for Kohima. He observed that Kohima could not be selected for the Smart City project for lack of various reasons, such as road condition, sanitation standard, electricity, water supply and drainage systems. In this, he urged the general public and stakeholders to change the mindset.
The inaugural function was chaired by Lima Longchar, invocation by Associate Pastor NCRC PR Hill, Medochol Sothu, welcome address by LJC General Secretary Adi Sothu, building report by Treasurer Pudoho Luho, special number by women prayer fellowship & youth department of the colony.
