Kiphire, June 17 (MExN): “Keep alive the culture and traditions” was the clarion call of Sedevikho Khro, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire to the students of Loyola Hr Sec School, Kiphire during the ‘Cultural Fest for Peace’ organized by the school on June 16.
Addressing as the chief guest, Sedevikho Khro called upon the students, public leaders and the elders to retrospect as well as introspect in light of the present situation prevailing in Kiphire district. He hoped that the cultural festival that is initiated by the school will touch the people of Kiphire first to work for peace and then spread the message of peace to others.
Rev. Fr. Ntonse John Lotha, Principal of the school, while welcoming everyone introduced the purpose of the event. He said that the event was organized to propel the talents, innovations and literary aptitude of the children.
Rev. Fr. Loyola Antony from Kiphire in a press release said that the programme is slated for two consecutive days. The event has various cultural cum literary competitions like folk dance, folk song, folk storytelling, choir, solo (song, dance), duet, skit, group dance, blind folded drawing, prepared speech, extempore speech, fancy dress, essay writing, poem writing, poem recital, story writing, math puzzle, spelling bee, memory test, quiz and debate.
