Peren, April 21 (DIPR): As part of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a programme of Ujjwala Diwas of the Pradhan Mantri, LPG Panchayat was launched at Jalukie ‘B’ village under Peren district on April 20.
The programme witnessed LPG connection distribution to five PMUY beneficiaries, where a nominal amount of Rs. 1,600/- was realised from the beneficiaries and which will allow six times free refilling.
Meanwhile, Chubawati Chang ADC, Peren in his speech stated that Gram Swaraj itself has the spirit of social harmony which everyone craved and that the government had made it a reality. He also enlightened the villagers to be careful while filling up the forms of the Scheduled Tribe certificate, Indigenous certificate, Bank Account etc. in order to comply with the norms for availing different government schemes. He requested the Gas Agency to speed up the implementation process.
Earlier, Achintya Kumar in his introductory speech on Ujjwala Diwas said that the scheme was introduced with a view to ease women’s burden with clean fuel. He added that the 738 villages will be taken up under this scheme and 45 villages under Peren district.
Dr. Tasile also shared the benefits of clean energy for environment protection. The programme was chaired by Namki Mpom, VCC Jalukie ‘B’ village.
