Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Lotha Public Organization (LPO) in a counter rejoinder to the Lotha frontal bodies on Saturday stated that the Lotha frontal bodies are “nothing but a blatantly counterfeit pretence.”
LPO President, Sulanthung Humtsoe and Vice President, Phyobemo Odyuo in a press release alleged that the ‘syndicate stage-managed Lotha HoHo (LH) which has been handling the affairs of Lotha tribe since the formation of their LH team has been a contretemps.’ They stated that the LH entrusting their frontal bodies to go for press publication was a clear indication of “their self-styled manipulative ways of ruining Lotha people without common consensus of Lotha with their divisive ways.
The LPO alleged that the Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) debacle happened only after the LH started interference and ‘without any authority, selected an interim body of LBCA on March 18, 2022 to function inspite of the fact that there was existing body which was legally constituted and dispute case pending disposal in the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court Kohima bench.’
“The present dispute is to displace the officially elected LBCA by an interim body by the Lotha Hoho team is exclusively responsible to the present dispute of LBCA for controlling the religious matters,” LPO stated while urging the Home Department to review the LH memorandum dissolving the LBCA invoking the Article 371(1) (A) and 16 Point Agreement “which is capricious and cannot stand the test of law which merit to be declared as null and void.”
Alleging that the LH has pushed the Lotha community into “Dark Age where a unity and forgiveness is polarized to subserve its parochial power agenda in the short term,” LPO reiterated the demand Er Mhondamo Ovung and Abenthung Ngullie to “immediately step down on moral ground and pave the way for the new leadership who can lead the Lotha community with a clear vision and God's wisdom.” It also suggested the “Lotha frontal bodies to stop making ‘fraudulent and farcical press publication’ and added that “LPO never pay any attention to their press release.”
