The Department of Land Resources today offered gifts in the form of blanket to all the drivers, peon, sweepers, mali and electricians of the department through its Advent Christmas programme here. The amount generated through offering during the programme will also go to poor patients’ fund of the Naga Hospital, Kohima.
Land Resource Department secretary Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, in his greetings was appreciative of the department officers and staff for putting their tireless effort to improve the living standard of the people and to boost the rural economy. He also called upon each and every individual to forgive and forget the past misdeed if any through this Christmas.
Asangla Phom in Christmas message said that Christmas teaches us joy, peace, giving and loving. In this, she challenged everyone “to re-affirm our spiritual life,” and renew the channel of relationship.
The programme commenced with a prayer by land resources department director Hoto Yeptho. Topeni and Imli presented special numbers. Land resources department deputy director N. Kehie pronounced benediction prayer. The programme was followed by bonfire and dinner.
