LSU for relocating AR’s Signal Tower in Wokha

Wokha, September 1 (MExN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) today appealed for relocating the Signal Tower of Assam Rifles installed at Ganga Post in Wokha, an earlier base camp of paramilitary force. As per the LSU, the land area is now under the authority of the State government and the latter is all set to construct a “mini secretariat” building for the government offices in the district.

The State Government is all set to start various development activities at the proposed area, maintained a press release from the LSDU President Ashanthung Humtsoe and General Secretary, Pithungo Shitio. “The apex student’s community of the Lothas feels that it is a long cherished dream of the Lotha Community to have access and feasibility to visit district government offices in one demarcated infrastructure building,” it stated.

In this connection, the LSU requested the concerned authority to “immediately vacate the land and give the ‘right of way’ for developmental activities in the interest of the Lothas as the land now belongs to the state government.”
