LSU games and sports meet begins

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 28 (MExN): The 22nd Session of Longwa Students’ Union (LSU) Games and Sports meet cum Literary Competitions with the theme ‘Education through Games and Sports’ kicked off on December 27at Longwa Village, Mon District.


The event will last till December 31 and has many areas of competitions under the heads of Sports and Literary. The Seven Morungs in the village which is grouped into Ten (10) teams will compete with one another.


Bongkhao Konyak, Advisor, DUDA was the Special Guest for the Opening Function. The Special Guest in his speech advised the competitors to carry Education and Sports hand in hand and further said that students shouldn’t neglect their studies though they are also interested in other co-curricular activities. He also encouraged the participants that they bring laurels to the Village, District, State and Nation with the talent that is in them. Later after his speech the Special Guest also dedicated the tournament open. Earlier at the arrival, the women folks of Longwa welcomed the Special Guest with a folk song. He was accompanied by a host of dignitaries.


The opening function started with a Drill display from a group of school going girls.
