
Wokha, May 30 (MExN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has issued a directive for students in uniform and prohibition for sale of tobacco/nicotine products to students within Wokha district. The LSU office in a press release stated that the directives are issued for strict compliance. Code of conduct for students in uniform: It directed that any student found loitering around in uniform during class hours or student’s found loitering around in uniform outside of school campus without a valid reason will face strict disciplinary action from the office of LSU.
Prohibition for sale of tobacco products to students: It directed that no shopkeeper within Wokha district will sell tobacco products to students in uniform; No shopkeeper will sell any tobacco products within 100 meters of any institution, school or college premises. Any shopkeeper found violating these directives will face severe action from the LSU, including reporting to relevant authorities and additional measures deemed necessary to enforce compliance, it stated.
“These directives are issued with immediate effect to combat the menace of tobacco and uphold the standards and values of the student community within the district. Non-compliance will result in significant consequences as the LSU is dedicated to ensuring a safe and favorable environment for education and student well-being,” LSU directive added.
