
Wokha, September 17 (MExN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) on September 17 notified all private schools in Wokha district to adhere to the directive issued by the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, regarding pupil-teacher ratios from the next academic session.
According to the union, the Department, as mandated by the Right to Education Act, 2009, had directed all private schools in Nagaland to adhere to pupil-teacher ratios of 30:1 for the Primary Level; 35:1 for the Upper Primary Level; and 40:1 for the Secondary and Higher Secondary Levels.
Accordingly, the LSU urged all institutions within Wokha district to strictly comply with the specified ratios.
“This initiative aims to ensure personalised attention and a conducive learning environment for our students, ultimately providing quality education,” it added.
Hence, the LSU also requested the institutions to assess their current enrollment and take proactive steps to facilitate the necessary measures to achieve these ratios.
