Lumami land donors warns NUNTSA

Dimapur Feb 6 (MExN): The land donors of Lumami village have denied any harassment meted out to the staff and students of Nagaland University, Lumami campus. Stating that allegations have to be substantiated with proof and failure of which the village authorities would take due action, the land donors spokesperson IK Sema in a release stated that the allegations were verified and no incidence of harassment took place. It also stated that the Nagaland University Non-teaching Staff Association’s (NUNTSA) ultimatum was a direct challenge to the village authorities. The land donors also asked VC of NU to clarify whether the NUNTSA was a competent body to act on behalf of the university.

IK Sema stated that the decision to go on a phase-wise agitation by NUNTSA was one-sided decision since Sumi employees were not invited while taking decision.  Further cautioning that the Village authorities were closely watching the employees of a particular community who are trying to create problems on a communal grounds by spreading baseless allegations, the land donors warned that ‘very unpleasant situation may explode on tribal color’ if the authorities do not take measures against this group of employees
