Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): Luzheto village, under Kuhuboto area, celebrated its golden jubilee.
The village carried out various development and other activities in commemoration of the golden jubilee of establishment of the village and its church.
Construction of village gate and development of children’s park was among the notable activities undertaken by the village to mark the year-long celebration.
Also coinciding with the 58th Nagaland statehood day and as part of jubilee celebration, the village organized an advent Christmas programme on December 1.
Speaking on the occasion, Pukhavi Yepthomi, former Councillor of Dimapur Municipal Council and a resident of Luzheto shared the joy of Christmas and jubilee celebration to the villagers and said the true meaning of Christmas and jubilee is when people come together and share the joy, giving glory to the creator of heaven and earth.
He acknowledged the jubilee planning committee led by Khekiye Yepthomi for having overcome all odds to initiate and carry out various activities to mark the historic celebration of the village.
Earlier this year the village gate was inaugurated by Jacob Zhimomi, Minister PHED, while Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs inaugurated the tower at the village’s children's park.
The COVID-19 pandemic had been a major cause of concern for the villagers in conducting jubilee related activities but the village as a whole had been very particular in ensuring the practice of all precautionary measures stated Khekiye Yepthomi, Chairman of jubilee planning committee.
Er Khutovi Murumi lit the bonfire and highlighted its significance while Botoi Yepthomi chaired the function, the release stated.
