Mahendra Educational Private Limited opened its new coaching centre in Nagaland’s state capital Kohima on May 17. With this, Mahendra Institute has now three branches in Nagaland (Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Kohima).

Inaugurating Mahendra’s Education Centre here, Nagaland’s Civil Administration Works Division & Taxes, Advisor Kudecho Khamo, said that employment is one of the biggest challenges for the parents, public and for the government. He said that employment has come to such a saturated position where only the fittest are going to get government job. In this, Khamo stressed the need to empower and prepare the young minds to become competent enough to compete in all the competitive exams.

Talking on Nagaland context, he said “Even though we have many other better avenues in the private sectors, we often prefer to government job.”

Also stating that job avenues in the government sector has reached its saturation point in the state, he said “Unless you are No 1 or No 2, you cannot get government job.”

“When NPSC or any competitive exam is conducted, many people use to say corruption is there, favoritism is there, nepotism is there, questions papers are stolen and candidates are being selected in advance. These kinds of discouragement are there,” Khamo said.

Corruption may be there somewhere, somehow but is does not meant that there is no place for the merit, Khamo said. “There is always a place for merit, who are working hard and above all, God is there and God is the one who really give placement to each individual,” Khamo said.

‘Believe in yourself’

Khamo encouraged the aspiring students who want to pursue for competitive exams to “believe in yourself, pray to God so that you will be able to shine and become successful in your life.”

If we believe in ourselves that we are capable, God will help us, he said adding “if we work hard, nothing in this world can stop us.” We have better avenues than before. We have better opportunity now, he said and challenged the aspiring students to take full advantage of the opportunity to shine and become someone.

Earlier, the inaugural programme was chaired by Yinglam Phom while welcome address was delivered by Kuto Khusoh, proprietor Mahendra’s Education Centre, Kohima. Vote of thanks was proposed by Nukhonielu Venuh.
