Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio on Thursday said that Sechü Zubza will become the main train station of the proposed Dimapur-Kohima railway line. Through this, Sechü Zubza will figure as an important sub urban township of Nagaland State.
The 88-km Dimapur-Zubza (Kohima) broad gauge line – a national project – was sanctioned by the Railway Board in 2007-08. Considering its importance, it was declared a National Project in 2007. The new line will take off from the existing railhead at Dhansiri railway station (in Karbi Anglong district of Assam), 19 km short of Dimapur, and culminate at Zubza, which is 16 km short of Kohima.
Addressing the closing function of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Sechü Zubza Youth Organization (SZYO) at WAPO Ground, Sechü Zubza, Rio said a time has come have a proper town planning to meet the growing demand of the population.
Stating that a comprehensive master plan is needed, Rio urged the public to pay special attention to it.
He also stressed on the need to have a package of paying guest houses to meet the requirements of tourists and travelers. Rio also told the inhabitants of Sechü Zubza to beautify the town by planting flowers and decorative trees. With four lane road crossing the town, he said it is imperative to focus on beautification of the town.
The MP also asked the people to feature traditional touch on construction of buildings in the town. Rio said that constructing a dam is necessary to store the water, which would not only suffice human consumption but also serve well the agricultural activities.
On educational institutions in the town, he called for delivering quality education to attract students from all corners. He said that hostel facilities including residential schools and college are also required.
