Mainstream SSA & RMSA batches within 30 days: NSF, ENSF to CS

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Students' Federation (ENSF) submitted an ultimatum to the Nagaland Chief Secretary with regard to the nature of appointment of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches.

In the ultimatum addressed to the Chief Secretary on September 2, the Presidents of the NSF and ENSF stated that an agreement was signed between the School Education department, the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers' Association (NSSATA) and the two organisations on June 12, 2018.

In this regard, point 3 of the said agreement stated that the Department will rectify the nature of appointment of SSA teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches basing on appointment order, RTI reports and advertisement and other relevant documents, the ultimatum stated.

Subsequently, the Cabinet meeting on October 3, 2018 decided in principle, “to bring the teachers of all 2010 & 2013 batches of SSA & RMSA teachers into the mainstream of School Education cadre” and an office memorandum, to this effect, was issued by the Cabinet's secretariat on October 5, 2018, it said.

However, despite several reminders and appeals made by the NSF & the ENSF, the agreement/decision has not been implemented till date.

As such, the two federations after a consultative meeting, demanded that the State government implement the office memorandum within a period of 30 days, failing which it would “take up democratic measures against the inaction of the State Government.”
