Maintain office buildings properly, Nagaland Chief Secy urges HoDs

Kohima, October 25 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam has urged all the Head of the Departments (HODs) to undertake intensive cleanliness drive by way of social work etc in and around their respective directorate and other offices. He further directed the concerned HoD to furnish “action taken” to the CS office by October 31.  As per the State DIPR, in a circular, he gave the direction after observing that some of the Directorate buildings and premises in the Kohima capital complex area were not properly maintained. Several such buildings present a shabby look because of overgrowth of foliage, dumping of rubble and so on along the office fencing, the CS observed.  He further pointed out that the Government offices and properties should be seen as “well maintained and cleaned at all times as creates a healthy workspace and encourages other citizens to adopt similar good practices of cleanliness and hygiene.” Accordingly, the CS requested all HoDs to actively engage in the upkeep and cleanliness of their offices including common area premises, toilets, stairs, parking lots, pathways and the areas surrounding the office complexes especially on the roadside.
