Maj Gen MM Naravane, SM takes over as the new IGAR (North)

Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): Major General MM Naravane, SM took over as the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) on June, 20 2013, succeeding Major General BS Das, SM, VSM.  

Major General MM Naravane was commissioned into the Sikh Light Infantry in June 1980. During his service of over 30 years, the general officer served across the length and breadth of the country as well as in Sri Lanka as part of Operation Pawan.  The general officer also held varied important command and staff appointments including that of the Defence Attache at the Indian Embassy in Myanmar. 

Upon taking over the command of IGAR (N), Gen Naravane expressed his gratitude to the outgoing IGAR (N), Maj Gen B S Das SM, VSM, for his immense contribution towards maintaining peace in the State and assured that the formation  shall continue to strive along the direction and focus laid down by General Das.
