
Kohima, July 30 (DIPR): An awareness programme on tobacco control under the theme “Make Everyday No Tobacco Day” was held at conference hall of Don Bosco College, Kohima on July 28.
The District Nodal Officer, District Tobacco Control Cell, Kohima, Dr. Arenla Walling spoke on the topic ‘Hazards of Tobacco and COTPA 2003.’
240 students participated in the programme and took a pledge on anti tobacco. The programme also saw felicitation by Principal of the College, prayer by Anuka, Bible reading by Chubamenla, welcome speech by Seropi, skit by Akash and friends, song by Bosco Music Society, and vote of thanks by Poji. Master of the ceremony was John.
A sensitization programme for nurses was also organized at Naga Hospital Kohima (NHAK) by the District Tobacco Control Cell, Kohima and another awareness programme on hazards of tobacco for students of Oriental College was also held on July 29. Dr. Arenla Walling was the resource person in both the programmes.
