In response to state’s government ban on plastic use, the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) take initiative to make Hornbill Festival 2019 a plastic free and a zero waste festivals. In this, SAYO banned the following kinds of plastic use in the Hornbill Festival 2019 at Kisama as polythene bags, transparent plastic packaging, water bottle (below 20 litres), juice bottles (below 1 litre) including tetra packs, sweets/chips/ noodles/ Pan Masala Packages, plastic/ thermocol platés, cups, spoon etc, plastic tarpaulins and plastic rope, plastic wrapping, Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
All the visitors/ stall holders and departments have been requested to adhere the same. Defaulters shall be penalized as per the law, SAYO stated in a notice.
