Dhansiripar | February 10
The Joint Coordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) for Dimapur District today gave the State Government till February 28 to “modify/rectify immediately” its December 20, 2021 notification and placing the status of the 45 villages, town, colonies and communities under the administrative jurisdiction of Deputy Commissioner Dimapur as before.
The memorandum submitted to the State Chief Secretary through SDO (Civil) Dhansiripar cautioned of resorting to “further severe steps“till the achievement of their demand if the rectification/modification is not by the deadline.
The JCCV for Dimapur District submitted the memorandum a huge public rally held at Dhansiripar local ground and attended by the people from the affected areas.
The memorandum also highlighted on how even before the announcement of new district, the Aqahuto Tokukujo Kukami Kuqhakulu (GB’s Union) Aqahuto, Dimapur on November 13, 2021 had expressed concern over eventual bifurcation of Dimapur district and the expressed desire of 29 (recognised and unrecognised) Sumi villages under Aqahuto Area to remain within the district. The same memo was also given to all elected legislators from Dimapur district, it said.
Again, the Sema Dimasa Union Dhansiripar Sub-Division also issued a statement December 16, 2021 highlighting the inconveniences in the event of shifting the administrative control of Dhansiripar to Chumoukedima from Dimapur, it pointed out.
Another memorandum on December 22, 2021 signed by the Officials of ATKK and Sema Dimasa Union Dhansiripar Sub-Division (SDUD) was submitted to Chief Minister, Nagaland agitating against the Government Notification for shifting of 45 villages of Dhansiripar Sub-Division and villages from administrative area of Seithekema Circle from Dimapur to Chumoukedima, it added.
On January 6, 2021, the JCCV wrote an open letter to the Chief Ministerto reconsider the said notification on or before January 20 while the Dimasa Public Organization in a public representation ‘ardently’ urged for amdement of the notification, the Committee said.
“It further pertinent to say that the creation of a administrative circle is naturally focus on the interest and convenience of the citizens where its subjects are interested, but when the interest of the general public are ignored, it becomes administrative disorder amounting to dictatorial policies adopted by the Government,” the JCCV asserted.
Accordingly, it demanded the necessary modification or rectification on the said notification within February 28, failing which the “JCCV shall resort to further severe steps till our desire/demand is achieved.”
The February 10 memorandum was appended by Lughozhe K Swu, Convenor JCCV; Tsithrongse Sangtam Hd GB, Co-Convenor JCCV; Devendra Rana, Secretary JCCV and Joybolal Khemprai, Executive Member JCCV.
