Newmai News Network Imphal | October 3   As people in Manipur intensified their demand seeking justice for Chanam Pravish who was found dead in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on September 9, an ultimatum of five days has been served to all political parties to make their stand known to the public on the issue.   People Action Committee Against the Brutal Killing of Pravish Chanam while urging all the political parties today to make their stand known to the public through the media, has said that serious agitation will begin soon to seek justice for Pravish Chanam.   Pravish Chanam, (22), son of Jugindro Singh of Uripok Achom Leikai, Imphal, was found dead on September 9 at Noida in Uttar Pradesh, and his body was cremated shortly after without informing the family. The police informed the family about the incident after everything was over.   He was found missing after attending a music concert at Knowledge Park, Noida on September 8 and his brother Rabikanta Chanam filed a missing complaint to the police soon after.   The victim’s family members suspect that Pravish might have been killed by some gang members who are engaged in human organ rackets. Suspicion cropped up after the dead body was not handed over to the family members, said leaders of Committee.   Speaking to media persons today in Imphal, Convenor of the Committee, A. Pholen urged the state government to hand over the case to the CBI or send investigation teams comprising of police and magistrates from Manipur.   On September 25, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at UP Bhawan, New Delhi and had reportedly studied the information gathered by Manipur ADGP (Intelligence) Pramod Asthana, who was camping then at Noida to take a first-hand account of the case. Biren later handed over the report to Adityanath for further investigation by UP Police, according to a statement from Manipur Chief Minister’s Secretariat.   The statement informed of the UP Chief Minister’s assurance to his Manipur counterpart to deliver justice by finding out the truth at the earliest. Biren had urged the UP CM to handover the case to an independent investigating agency if necessary.
