The Makers Market in Dimapur

Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): In the current market conditions, it has become increasingly cheaper to buy distantly produced goods, despite the increased costs of packaging, transport, inspection, and associated expenses. However, along with lower prices comes the added cost of irreparable repercussions on the environment and impacts on the economic wellbeing of our community.   Keeping that in mind, The Makers Market is a step in the right direction, encouraging local and small business enterprises in the region by creating an ideal platform to interface with customers.   The Makers Market is a joint initiative of Zatara Pvt. Ltd, a Dimapur based Marketing company and NEbuzz.com, an online content portal from the Design Stash Team, who have conceptualized The Makers Market, a periodic marketplace scheduled to be held for the first time on May 28 at Aiko Greens, Purana Bazar, Dimapur.   The objective of this initiative is to organize and create a ‘marketplace’ by bringing together the best of local food growers, producers, chefs, bakers, artists, florists, designers and service providers on one platform to provide a complete shopping and community experience for the customers.   The Team behind this endeavor has this to say about their initiative – “We believe in the power of ‘Local’ and that the only way our economy can grow sustainably, is when our local businesses thrive.”

The Makers Market is seeking to partner with home grown companies and organizations committed towards making a change for the betterment of our community. The event will also be a platform to promote various local and community driven campaigns such as: ‘Love Local,’ ‘Clean Dimapur’ and ‘Make in Northeast India’ among others.   The Makers Market is projected as a place for business and trade while at the same time fostering a social, community and family experience. It will provide a pleasant alternative to a crowded supermarket shopping experience and will showcase products and services from approximately 50 vendors for its first chapter.
