MOKOKCHUNG, JULY 24 (MExN): One man, identified as Tiatemsu, was arrested by the police in Mokokchung for brutally assaulting his wife.
The incident, which happened on July 16 at Dilong ward, went public only on July 24.
According to a press release from the Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, the accused was arrested on July 17 based on a complaint filed by a relative of the victim.
In the complaint, it was stated that the accused “physically abused and assaulted” his wife at their house on the night of July 16.
The release said, “During the initial investigation, it was established that the accused had tied the leg and hands of his wife and used firewood and household grocery to beat her.”
It added that a case was registered against the husband at the Women Police Station and further investigation was on.
