DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): A man who was allegedly assaulted by a group of individuals in Dimapur on November 9 succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening.
The deceased, identified as Mhathung Lotha of Yimpang village, Wokha district, was admitted to the Civil Hospital Dimapur, where he died around 7:00 PM on November 11, Dimapur Police said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the Police, Lotha and an accomplice were allegedly beaten up by some individuals following an altercation at Naga Colony area, Burma Camp, on November 9. The following day, the duo were reportedly called to the residence of the accused persons on the pretext of resolving the dispute but were again assaulted.
Police said the victim’s companion is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Following the incident, personnel from East Police Station arrested three individuals in connection with the case, and a regular case has been registered for further investigation, the statement said.
