A man was found dead inside his car parked by the roadside near the Power House area, Full Nagarjan, Dimapur on Saturday afternoon.
According to sources, the incident came to light between 1 and 2 PM when passersby noticed a vehicle parked in the same spot for an unusually long time. Upon approaching the vehicle for a closer look, they found the man unresponsive inside the car, which was locked from within. The police were immediately informed.
Personnel from the East Police Station arrived at the scene and subsequently shifted the body to the Dimapur District Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The deceased was later identified as Kekasashi Aier, a resident of Dilong Ward, Mokokchung. He was employed as a Junior Accounts Officer at the BSNL office, Dimapur.
Authorities are yet to determine the reason the vehicle was parked at the location or the circumstances leading to Aier's death.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
