Mokokchung, April 4 (MExN): Mokokchung Police apprehended a 23-year-old man for what it termed as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, officials said.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police Mokohchung , the accused, identified as Imtinungchet (23), a resident of Chungtia village, was apprehended on April 2 at around 9:50 pm.
Police recovered one country-made .22 pistol along with a magazine and three live rounds of .22 ammunition from his possession.
In addition, one unregistered motorcycle (Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc) and a mobile phone were seized.
A regular case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway, added the release issued by PRO Mokokchung Police.
