Man reported missing found in Gujarat

One man, who was reported missing from Dimapur earlier this year, in June, was found alive in Gujarat. The Dimapur police had launched a search operation after the formerly missing person, Amit Jain, was believed to have died by suicide, jumping into the Dhansiri river. His motorcycle was also found on the Dhansiri bridge. 

The tracing of Jain was revealed by the Dimapur police on December 19.

Amit Jain was reported missing by his wife on June 23 after he left a voice message telling his wife not to look for him as he was taking his own life. Following the complaint, the Dimapur  Police and the SDRF conducted an intensive search operation, at a time when the river was swelling from the monsoon rains. The search went beyond the state border into Karbi Anglong, Assam. 

The DCP, Dimapur, told The Morung Express that Jain was brought to Dimapur from Valsad, Gujarat on December 17. 

He reportedly has a history of playing the disappearing act for extended periods and reappearing. The motive for the recent disappearance was reportedly unpaid dues/loans running into lakhs of rupees.  

Armed robbery at Bandhan bank 
Masked armed men looted a customer service point of the micro-finance bank- Bandhan in Dimapur on October 18. As per the Dimapur police, the robbery involved three men, who entered the Bandhan customer service point located at Kuda village. It happened around 4:00 pm and cash amounting to around Rs 1.3 lakh was looted at gunpoint. They brandished what was purported to be a real pistol.
