Mandatory utilization of BSNL network for govt departments

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): In alignment with directives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Communications' Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is now mandated to provide internet, broadband, landline, and leased line services for all Central Government Ministries, Departments, Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSEs), and autonomous bodies.

According to a DIRP report, the directive, outlined in the Government of India's Office Memorandum No. F.No. 19-1/2019-SU-I dated October 12, 2020, has prompted BSNL to formally request the State Government of Nagaland to instruct various state departments to utilize BSNL’s telecom services.

In response, all relevant state departments have been urged to prioritize BSNL for their telecommunications needs where feasible.
