Mangkolemba, December 5 (MExN): One of the biggest sub-divisions in the state, the Mangkolemba Sub-division ADC Headquarter will be culminating its yearlong silver jubilee celebration at Mangkolemba town on December 9 with Chief Minister TR Zeliang as the chief guest.
The ADC Headquarter Mangkolemba, which was established in the year 1991, looks after three ranges under Mokokchung district, namely – Jangpetkong, Tzurangkong and Japukong range.
As part of its yearlong silver jubilee celebration, the Headquarter, under the leadership of the incumbent ADC Imtiwapang Aier formed a planning committee consisting of the government officers, the Students’ Union, youth organization (MTLT), church leader, GBs etc and initiated different activities as part of the yearlong celebration. Notable among the Notable among the activities were the mammoth career counseling for students, exhibition cum sales, inter-range volleyball tournament etc which were successfully held with the active support and cooperation of the different NGOs like youth organizations, students’ organizations, village councils, town committee etc.
On Friday, December 9, the Silver Jubilee celebration will culminate in a grand finale with chief minister TR Zeliang gracing the main programme as the chief guest at Public Ground which will start from 11:00 AM.
The Silver Jubilee Planning committee has made elaborate programme for the day which will include cultural shows by different cultural troupes from the different villages and communities. An added attraction will also be the Assam Rifles Brass Band who will entertain the audience.
The chief guest will unveil the Jubilee monolith and also inaugurate the ‘Town Council’ at town Hall on the same day. Besides the two legislators from the area – Parliamentary Secretary Benjongliba and MLA Dr Longri Ao - a host of dignitaries and senior ministers are expected to accompany the Chief Minister to attend the jubilee celebration.
The evening of December 9 will mark one of the biggest concerts in the town with renowned band from Shillong - COLOURS – taking the stage to entertain the audience.
In this regard, the Planning Committee in a press release has invited all the public to join in the grand celebrations of the Mangkolemba ADC Hq.
