MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 2 (MExN): In a bid to bring the government closer to the people, the Mangkolemba Sub-division held its monthly SDPDB meeting at Lakhuni village located in Japu range under Mokokchung district on May 30. The meeting was chaired by the ADC and Vice Chairman SDPDB, Mangkolemba T Lankonsen Tsanglao. The village has around 120 households with most families engaged in plantation farming especially areca nut and rubber.
According to a DIPR report, the chairman in his address appreciated the eco-friendly practices adopted by the village using bamboo cups and leaf wraps. He further stated that each contribution made by individual will be a great leap toward making the environment plastic free. He also gave an update on the on-going road upgradation work at Longnak-Mangkolemba road which is expected to be completed by this year end.
The house discussed and approved the schemes proposed by the elected members under Local Area Development Program 2024-25 under 29 Jangpetkong A/C and 30 Alongtaki A/C.
In regards to projects like the construction of Dispensary Sub Centre at Longdikaba, Government Primary School at Longdikaba, Government Primary School at Lizo Model village, renovation of Government High School, Alongtaki, the chairman urge the concerned departments to expedite the formalities to ensure that the projects are completed in due time to serve the larger public interest and convenience .
The meet was well attended by heads of offices under Mangkolemba Sub-division, the DIPR report stated.
