Mokokchung, November 29 (MExN): The Mangmetong Village Council and the Mangmetong Union Mokokchung have condemned the senseless attempt on the life of Dr. S. C Jamir near Changki Village on November 24. At the same time, the MVC and MUM has questioned the Ungma Senso Mongdang for “their motives as to why they had targeted the houses belonging to our bonafide citizen Moachang and attacked his house and assaulted his innocent wife without any rhyme or reason.” Stating the attack on woman as a total act of cowardice, Mangmetong Village Council Chairman Imlimeren in a press release said that such act ‘does not exist in No custom.’
“The mob also attacked Benjungnungsang’s residence and searched his house and inquired about him from his children, the intention of the mob was to assault him”, the Council further alleged in the release.
Terming such act on the house and property, the Chairman said that “This shameless action is very serious and intolerable.” “We the Mangmetong Senso have taken the matter seriously and firmly to resolve to seek the justification from the Ungma Senso Mongdang accordingly”, the release further added.
