Not completing Nagaland Foot-hills road connectivity (NEC) Dimapur to Tizit in the past 30 years of the 50 years Nagaland Statehood has invited thousand voices from the various public organizations and individual leaders demanding the same to complete which is defeating the solid vision of the planer of this road in 1982-83 during the first Congress-I Govt. of Nagaland under Dr. S.C. Jamir. The objectives are: (1) Failing to provide Social security to Naga passersby moving in Assam. (2) Failing to the advancement of Naga economy, Trade & commerce, Industrialization, Farming’s, obstruction to extract minerals like petroleum and coal, forest products etc. (3) Preventing to the economic development of wealthy Naga people who are holding coveted land purchased from the traditional land holders. (4) Heavy loss of State revenue over the years.
Inviting unnecessary social insecurity from the hostile attitude people of Assam towards the Nagas moving in Assam ranging from Dimapur to Tizit via Bokajan/Golaghat/Titabor/Mariani/Nagachari/Amguri/Naganimora/Sonari in Assam any time on their own will was developed during 1955-56 and the same atmosphere is enhanced every year taking the law and order in their own hands not only this time incident. This kind of problems for the people of Nagaland was visualized during the days of Late. Zulutemba, Dy. Minister of NNO Govt. who has contributed his best towards demarcating Nagaland boundary with our neighbour Assam which is now in the Supreme Court of India waiting for judgment. It was 1982-83 programs started construction of the same road initiated by the elected members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly representing from those Assembly segments of Nagaland facing Assam boundary initiated by Mr. Tiameren.
My appreciation goes to the Ao-Senden and many other Hoho’s for an urgent realization of completing Foot-hills road project incomplete in certain important pockets and to strengthen it into a FOUR-LANE connectivity providing manifold objectives successfully. History of Nagaland development will speak itself about the present leaders in the chair highly incase of the unbroken ice of the past 30 years is cracked by them. I am also extremely happy to note about the decision of Ao-Senden for selecting Dr. Benjongliba, Parliamentary Secretary of Agriculture as a team leader for initiative who is also representing Alongtaki A/C that was given reorganization for this major project in demand.
Every sensible Naga people may agree with me about the hostile mindset of Assam neighborhood against the simple character Naga people traveling in Assam thereby creating untoward harassment which is yet to realize by them and there is no scope for them to realize in the immediate future. The only alternative for the people of Nagaland and the State Govt. must have to do it and see that those objectives are achieved by hook or by crook meeting the human resources development of our people and see that special fund is arranged for this vital road of public importance connecting for the free movement of our people in the best coveted land available awaiting to provide opportunities of the self employment/Minerals extraction/Economic development is available in such an sufficient land in other parts of Nagaland. This may also remove the sense of social insecurity and negligence of the State Govt. in the past 30 years in this 21st century.
