Manipur, China discuss trade relations

Newmai News Network Imphal | June 21   Manipur Minister of Commerce,Trade and Industries, Th Biswajit Singh called on Chief International Business Officer of Yunnan State Farms Agribusiness Group CO LTD Tang Shangjun, June 20, and discussed ways to promote trade and Agro Based Activities ties between India and China.   The Manipur minister met the Chinese Officer at the latter’s Dongfeng East Road official residence in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China, according to a Manipur Government official source.   During the meeting, the officer expressed his interest in investing in certain prospective agro-based activities in Manipur and his desire to visit Manipur.   During the meeting, Biswajit and Shangjun discussed free movement of Chinese traders in Manipur.   Shangjun also drew the Minister’s attention on PAC (Prior Approval Category). He further reassured to promote trade between the two countries.   It may be mentioned that a team from  Manipur led by Minister for Commerce, Trade and Industry attended the South & South East Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair, 2017 at the Dianchi International Convention and International Sistership pavilion at Kunming, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China.
