Launches two e-governance websites Newmai News Network Imphal | April 15 The Biren Singh government in Manipur will soon start monitoring various developmental projects as well as curb corruption "through the use of information technology". Towards these ends,and improvement the e-governance in Manipur is important. Recognising the importance of improvement in e-governance to achieve those goals, Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched two websites at his office chamber on Friday. The newly launched websites are Digital Application for Review by Public and Nation (DARPAN) www.ppmonitor.in and Anti-Corruption Cell www.accmanipur.in. Addressing at the formal function of launching the websites, Singh said that the new government has taken such a "daring step” to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology. “The Government is committed to giving transparency, accountability and for a corruption free Manipur to the people of the State," he added. Singh further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has already launched the “Digital India” campaign, so with the launch of these two websites the new government calls for a new paradigm of ‘Digital Manipur’ to improve the e-governance in the State. The Chief Minister further stressed that the primary objective of these e-governance projects is to monitor the developmental projects and to curb corruption in the State. “The government needs the support and co-operation of the people and media houses so as to promote the digital movement in the state,” he added. During the event, a technical know-how of the websites and how to lodging of complains through mobile by using these web applications was also demonstrated. The DARPAN was developed by the Planning Department, Government of Manipur with objective of informing the people of the State about various projects being taken up by the government. It provides latest information and current status of the projects and act as a medium to check any fake or incorrect status report by using GPS location verification. The launching programme was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, and MLAs; Chief Secretary, O Nabakishore; Principal Secretary (Planning), Vineet Joshi; Commissioner IT, PK Singh; and other top ranking government officials.
