Journalists' organisations in Manipur have ‘temporarily’ rolled back their decision to cease work. The cease work of media houses in Manipur was to begin from May 19.
It can be mentioned here that, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and the Editors' Guild of Manipur (EGM) had submitted a memorandum to the chief minister of Manipur and the concerned departments to exempt media houses from the ban on internet services and also to allow transportation of newsprint and other press materials by May 18.
"After minutely considering the changing situation in the state during a joint meeting on Friday, it was resolved to take back the demand for some time," the journalists' bodies added.
