Manipur: Missing person from Nagaland found

One person from Nagaland named Peyao Konyak who had reportedly gone missing on September 20 from Yairibok under Thoubal district, Manipur was found by police the following day.

Konyak, who hails from Monyakshu village, Mon district Nagaland, had been working in Manipur as a labourer at a mill in Thoubal called the Victoria Veneer Mills. After news of him missing spread, a search operation was conducted wherein it was later revealed that he had been taken to a rehabilitation centre, where he was found by the police. 

Confirming this, a tweet from the Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton stated that Konyak who was previously reported missing has been located. “It has been learnt that he had gone missing under the influence of drugs. He has been admitted to a rehabilitation centre for necessary care and support,” Patton’s tweet added. 

Prior to this, the Konyak Union (KU) had issued a press release appealing the State Governments of Nagaland and Manipur to intervene in rescuing the person.
