Manipur NPF on choice of candidate

IMPHAL: Athuan Abonmai, the NPF, Manipur State general secretary while dismissing certain reports that opined the wrong choice of NPF candidate in Soso Lorho for the Manipur Outer Lok Sabha constituency in the just concluded poll was responsible for the defeat of the NPF, has said that Soso Lorho was not just hand-picked as the NPF candidate but series of consultations, deliberations and cross-examinations had zeroed in on the candidate.

According to Athuan Abonmai, taking into account Soso Lorho's political experience, principle, integrity, popularity, stability, political vision and political wisdom, the Central NPF leaders had decided to field him in the just concluded Lok Sabha election in Manipur Outer seat. Athuan Abonmai also said Soso Lorho is one leader who understands the sentiments of the down-trodden people, the marginalised and weaker section of the society.

Meanwhile, the NPF, Manipur State general secretary said had there been no irregularities, booth capturing and EVM manipulations the NPF candidate could have won the Manipur Outer seat by a huge margin. Athuan Abonmai also said there have been overwhelming people's support on the NPF candidate.
